Jaguars Season Preview

Offense

QB David Garrard is going into his 9th year with the team and 4th year as the full time starter, consistency has been his biggest issue. Now in 2010 offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter says the team has the best talent since he has been here, no more excuses for Garrard.
The offense starts with RB Maurice Jones-Drew, I expect him to have a huge year and make it to another probowl. At WR Mike Sims-Walker is due a big year now that he is the true number one, while I still think Mike Thomas should be in the slot, he will start out as the number two, Jarett Dillard, Zack Miller and Marcedes Lewis should proved a lot of other plays
Up front the offensive line will be better on the outside, with Monroe and Britton going into their 2nd years, but there is still concern on the inside.

Defense

The Jaguars overhauled its DL this offseason bringing in Aaron Kampman and Tyson Alualu, to go with Pot Roast Knighton and the much improved Derrick Harvey. They also added a bunch of new young pass rushers into the rotation. Kirk Morrison is the new MLB and along with Daryl Smith that unit should show vast improvements. The defensive back field is a huge question mark, we all know Rashean Mathis will get it done, but everywhere else might have issues, if the pass rush is good that could hide the DB woes.

Special Teams

Josh Scobee still has that strong leg and now with rookies Deji Karim and Scotty McGee this unit will be explosive. Kassim Osgood, Montell Owens and William Middleton might help prove that the Jaguars has the best overall special teams in the NFL.

Gene Smith has done a great job with putting this team together in two years, and its Jack Del Rio job to get them ready to play on Sundays. The Jaguars just need to be in the playoff hunt late in the year and maybe this year that momentum wont be too much for them and they can make a push into the tournament.
